What I Learned in English 9/10 Second Quarter!

In Ms. Priester's call this quarter I have learned new vocabulary words. I think learning new words you will be able to understand what you hear and read. It helps you to say what you want to when you are speaking or writing. With a good vocabulary, we can express ourselves better. Having a good vocabulary might help us get a job. Also, your pronounciation skills will imporve alot. We sound alot smarter and not only that, we are smarter becuase we leanred new words. Therefore by learning new words we can expand our minds.

“The Gift of the Magi” - My Most Generous Gift.

Even though I did not sell my most prized possession like the characters in “The Gift of the Magi” by O. Henry to do so, I have given a generous gift. The most generous gift I’ve ever given is friendship bracelets. I gave these bracelets to all of my best friends. I know it may seem like it's nothing special but to me I think  it's very important, it lets them know that I really care for them. When I gave them the breacelets their faces lit up.  I designed them with pretty accessories. As soon as I gave it to them they put them on and hardly took them off. I was so happy that they liked them.

“The Gift of the Magi” - Surprise Ending.

When I finised reading “The Gift of the Magi” by O. Henry, I felt shocked. I never would have thought that the ending would end like that. I think it's very cute that Della and Jim gave their most precious items away. Jim gave away his watch and bought combs for Della's was hair. Della gave away her hair and bought a chain for Jims watch. I was shocked I thought the story was going to end with Jim loosing the combs, or with Della loosing the watch. When they both got home they would tell each other that they lost the items and their chirstmas would be ruined. The conclusion of this story is that they did end up buying each other their gifts.
