“American History” Memorable Day Paragraph

A memorable day I had was actually today March 7, of 2011. I was heading out of a meeting and decided to get in the car as soon and I opened the door it hit me right in my forehead. The staff that was there started to laugh like crazy. I got in the car and I just kept feeling my forehead and not even within a minute I got a huge welt on it luckily it was over my bangs so you couldn’t really tell. It was swollen, red, and ugly. I will remember this day because it was hilarious.

My Reaction to JFK’s Death.

I think that the assassination of John F. Kennedy is strange. I can understand why someone would kill the president. Some reasons are: they wanted to be infamous, to get the attention, or maybe they are just jealous of someone who is extremely popular. John F. Kennedy was all about change, about people being equal. He was brave enough to stand up to the Russians because we were enemies.  He told the Russians that he was not going to let those missiles to be put in Cuba. Also, during the Civil Rights Movement he opened doors for women so they can participate in society. To me I think that he is remembered for some good and some bad things like all presidents from time to time, no president will or ever be perfect.

"A Warm, Clear Day in Dallas" Reading

According to the text president John F. Kenney and his wife Jaqueline were in Dallas Texas at 12:30. The president and his wife were in a limosine waving to the people then they stopped twice to shake hand with  a little girl and to greet with the Catholic Nun and her group of kids. Also, John Connally and his wife Nellie we in the car. Then he was shot first in the throat then in the skull. The Govner Conally was shot in the back. After that tehy rushed to the hospital. During the car ride to the hospital it was silent. At o'clok the president was pronounced dead. An hour and a half later Lyndon Johnson was sworn the 36th president of the U.S. After the assasination he was burried in Arlington National Cemetary on November 25, 1963.

Primary and Secondary Sources Comparison.

A primary source is a document written by someone who witnessed the event personally. A secondary source is written by someone who wasn't there. Somethings that they have in common are that they both involve people. Also, they both can be written in a document. A primary source is different because is uses diaries, speeches, letters, interviews, news film footage, autobiographies,etc. An example of  a primary source is the "Diary of Anne Frank - Experiences of a Jewish family during WWII." A secondary source is different because  it uses textbooks, magazine articles, commentaries, encyclopedias,etc.  One example of a secondary source can be any kind of history textbook. Primary and secondary sources are helpful because you can have a witness say what went on.
