Dragons' Den First Semester Week 17: Free Choice

Street art has always been a big thing in my being. For me living in Los Angeles is the where street art and graffiti can be found all over the place and to me there’s nothing more beautiful than someone expressing their feeling with art. I know what you thinking, you’re probably thinking that I am all about vandalism and that’s not the case here. To me it’s more about just making art making something meaningful and being able to make your talent known. To also let each person see how beautiful it is and putting it up in public so that everyone can appreciate it as much as they do. Lastly, to make things clearer, I am not into gangs, tagging, or crews or any of those silly things. I am just simply in love with all types of art.

Dragons' Den First Semester Week 13: Saturday

My favorite thing to do on a Saturday is to being back in LA and hanging out with my best friends. Being there makes me feel really good because it’s thee only place where I like to be and that’s makes me happy. I enjoy this because it is one of the best places I like to be at and it is where I spent the great days of my life. But sometimes it sucks because I know that I don’t live there anymore and I come back to this place and it just makes me feel like I have just wasted three years of my life here, when I could actually be doing something proactive and not messing everything up. Anyways, I do hope to do this again, and again, and again.

Dragons' Den First Semester Week 12: Veterans Day

I would never ever enlist in the military. One reason is because I am afraid of dying and if I join I know for sure that I am going to see like a lot of dead people, and possible end up dead, I couldn’t deal with that. Also, I met a person who joined the military and he was never the same. He would hear a noise and he would get a flashback and start worrying because it reminded him of it. Another reason is that I couldn’t stand someone yelling at me for no reason and being ok with it. Lastly, I wouldn’t be able to say “yes sir” after every sentence that would really bother me. Therefore, I do not plan to enroll in the military.

First Person Narrator: House Parent/Lead Staff Point of View

As I walked into the house today, on this beautiful day, I thought that the young ladies in the house need to learn some etiquette. Then, I realized that I try my best to correct them when they curse or when they are disrespectful. But since they are kids, whatever you do to help them out and be more courteous, it won’t work because at the end of the day anything you say to them comes in one ear and out the other. Then again, they are just kids so they do what they want to do. Later I noticed that they are cool kids and I don’t blame them for knowing these things. I know that they all have been dragged all over the place and I get that. So, as I went off shift, I felt like the girls are pleasant to have around.

Dragons Den 7: Would You Rather?

I would rather get caught singing in the mirror than spying on my “crush.” Simply because I’m too old to be wasting my time spying on someone. Spying on people really isn’t fun because it’s so embarrassing when someone catches you then it’s just extremely weird. Then you don’t know what to say or do, talk about awkward. Besides, I would love for someone to catch me singing only because I have a super bad voice, so I think that would be hilarious. Plus, I’d rather not get caught licking a telephone or eating hair so compared to this its not so bad. Therefore, In the future I really hope someone catches me and my terrible voice.

Dragons' Den First Semester Week 6: Campus Donations

The people who donated money and other supplies to us, couldn’t be any more generous. It’s so pleasant to have someone care for us, like they do. There’s so many other things those people can do but they rather offer these wonderful things to us.  Whenever I see them again I will obviously say how much I appreciate them. There’s nothing more precious then telling someone thank you. Some people now a day’s take things for granted, but in reality we all know that others don’t have what we have and to me I couldn’t be more thankful.

"Two Kinds" Jing-Mei's Shoes Paragraph

If someone was basically forcing me to play piano and I didn’t want to play, I would be completely honest and say no thanks. There’s no reason to lie. I know some people who just say yes to anything. For example, someone might buy you a present that you didn’t want but you still say that you liked it anyway because you didn’t want to hurt the persons feeling. In this case it’s messed up because in reality you didn’t. Therefore, I wouldn’t want to waste anyone’s time when there is actually a kid out there who really wants to learn how to play the piano.

"Two Kinds" Before You Read: Something You Don't Want to Do

I was at home and getting ready for my day to start off.  Problem is that I am always expected to make my bed before leaving for school but sometimes I don’t. I hate making my bed because it’s going to get messed up again, so there’s no reason to even do it. Consequences are given to me when I don’t make it. So from now on I try not being lazy and complain about it. I never would of thought  that just by having my room done it would make me happy because at the end of the day I get an award for it, so that’s pretty cool.

"Everyday Use" Before You Read: Tradition

Fifteen years from now I will be about 30 years old and probably have kids by then. For our tradition we will decorate the house on Christmas. This tradition involves hanging stockings, picking out a tree, and buying presents. One of my happy memories of this tradition is being with all of my family and just having fun. Sharing these traditions with kids will make them feel loved, and who doesn’t want to be loved. So, therefore by sharing this tradition with future generations, I hope people will like Christmas, as much as I do.

Dragons' Den First Semester Week 5: Life Lesson

A life lesson that I guess you can say I learned the hard way was going to Detox. I used to think that doing whatever it is that I was doing wasn't a bad thing. I was really ignorant and didn't care about anything. To me it wasn't a big deal because I am still a kid and this is was "regular" kids do, but obviously not. I have finally realized that was wrong. Know all I can is to try and solve this problem I have in front of me and so far I believe that I'm doing well.

Summer School Plan

During these days of summer school In order to be successful,  I will have to learn not to fail any more classes. Also, I will need to learn how to focus on turning in my assignments. And just passing ms. Priester's classs. One example I can learn not fail is to do everything I can to turn in the assiignments on time. Also, passing Ms. Priesters class so that I wont have to do it later like the seniors in our class.

Portfolio - Future

I feel that I’m going to go really far in my future, which is breathtaking. My goals are to first graduate high school. Next, go to community college then transfer to university. Lastly, I want to study criminal science. Some previous experiences that have prepared me to reach these goals are to basically try my hardest in science. I don’t really need to work on anything right now because this year I didn’t have science, so therefore my sophomore year I have to get and A. I have to help myself reach my goal because who else is going to help me, also if I will need help I will ask for it. Honestly, I do believe that I will achieve this if I really set my mind to it.

Portfolio – Greatest High School Accomplishment - 9th

One of my greatest accompishments was that mine and Chelsea's fish(Jaws) hasnt died. I've had my fish for quite a while now and I'm a bad "mother" I dont ever take care of it. I hardly  remembered to clean it and feed it. I forget that i have it sometimes. Honestly, I wish Jaws could talk so that he can tell me that hes hungry or that he needs me to clean him , or something. So instead of me abonding him, I gave it to Chelsea. She loves taking care of it she really loves Jaws. We both take care of it but mostly she does. I am actually really happy that hes in good hands. This incident didnt really change me it just taught me to take care of things, and not abandon them.

Portfolio – Greatest High School Obstacle

During the past year, an obstacle was trying to get off two hour. I didn't have that many incidents this year because I dont really like talking to these kids. I stick to myself pretty much. To me trying to get off two hour is somewhat hard. I don't consider myself dumb or anything, its just that I get distracted easily. Honestly getting good grades is a big deal to me. I've seen alot of people that are struggling with graduating because of their grades. I dont want to be like that. I used not care about grades for some reason but now I really am trying my best. This incident has changed me because I used to not care about school or grades and now I am doing my best.

CST Testing Reflection.

First day of testing I wasn’t all that scared to take it. First we took the English test. I think the CST testing wasn’t all that hard, as our schoolteachers say it was. Actually, everyone has been stressing out about it. During the CST I just read all the questions and answers carefully and actually put my effort into it. Unlike these kids on campus, all they were saying is that they guessed and then went to sleep. I guess that’s why our school thinks were are “dumb” because of our low-test scores. If people actually tried our school would noticed that we are “smart.” The next day we had math. The math was easy at first but then a little tricky towards the end. I think I did an ok job. Either way testing wasn’t hard. I kind of liked it.

Third Quarter Awards Review

The awards assembly on Friday was upsetting. Everyone had to go to the auditorium to get there awards for third quarter. Teachers, social workers and the friends of San Pasqual were all there to support those kids who had outstanding grades or that have improved. I felt that I deserved an award. Yes I know that second quarter I had horrible grades but third quarter I had excellent grades. I raised up most of my grade to a C. To me that a drastic change to go form an F to a C. To me that seems like I had improved alot. Then again there are alot of kids who probally did much more better than I did. Nesxt awards assembly I will try to get a 3.0 or higher. I'm already doing everything I can for fourth quarter so hopefully I will reach my goal.

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection.

I did not attend the Fourth Quarter Kickoff, because I felt as if it was a big waste of time. Therefore I'll talk about how a quote has affected the way I think about getting even with someone. “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”-Gandhi. Hearing this I didn’t care that much about what it meant. I was focus on being right because I thought I was. Afterwords, I was thinking about what it was supposed to mean. Basically, it means that you shouldn't get somebody back for something they did wrong to you because in the long run, everyone is going suffer. I figured out that just forgiving is the only I can get even.

Fourth Quarter Goals

My greatest accomplishment from last quarter was to at least get a C. I know that a sound like it’s not a big deal but, in order to achieve this goal I had to take baby steps. You have to learn how to crawl before you walk. I had an F in Ms. Priester’s class so to get a D I had to turn in some assignments. Hopefully this quarter I get an A or at least a B. First, I have to pay attention; because if I don’t then how will I know what my assignments are about. Second I have to turn in the assignment to get credit for doing it. Lastly, I have to go over it to see if I did it right, if not then I will have to waste time by doing it over again.

What I Learned in the Third Quarter of English 9/10

During the third quarter in Ms. Priester’s I have learned many things. I learned that symbolism is something that stands for both itself and something beyond itself. Also that allegory involves stories that characters and places stand for something beyond themselves usually virtues and vices. Another thing is that figurative language is a word or phase that describes one thing in terms of another and is not meant to be understood a literal real level. A primary source is an original, firsthand account of an event. Furthermore imagery is language that appeals to the five senses purpose of imagery. Secondary source is written by a writer who did not participate directly in the events.
