Being Brand New
It was about a year and a half ago when I first met Emilia.  Out of all the three years that I've been here I've never gotten along with houseparents, not once. It’s mostly because I'm not used to having someone love and care so much for me, but then Emilia and her husband Jorge came along. She was very pale, short, and had pretty auburn wavy hair. She seemed anxious but the again working with a bunch of girls can be nerve racking.
It was going to be my fifteenth birthday, and Emilia asked “so what do you want to do for your birthday?” As soon as she said that, I didn't know what to say. I wasn’t  expecting her to do anything for me, actually I wasn't expecting anyone do something. Most of all I was excited because first it was my birthday and second I wasn’t a little girl anymore, I was mature now. Then came January 9, 2010 and right after school I went home, then later had dinner with my housemates. Afterwards, I was happy that she was so concerned .
It was about two or three months ago when it all started.  I woke up in the morning in a grouchy mood. Then later i went to school and that’s where my bad day began. People kept telling me things that I really didn't want to hear, and we really annoying.  . Later, I went to my class and my teacher said that i was getting on her nerves and for no reason kicked me out of class, great.  Afterwards, problems and problems kept coming up. It seemed like I was supposed to get in trouble all day. After school was over i went home and talked to Emilia about it. It was strange at first because don't talk to anyone about things like this, but for some reason she was there to listen.
A few week ago the house and I were extremely bored and had nothing to do. So,  we went to Blockbuster. Emilia was kind enough to take us in the dark all the way up the windy rode to Ramona. I hate going up that way because the street is really narrow. Its’ like your asking to get in a car crash. Either way we got there and instead of renting the movies she bought them for us. I was so happy because she not only did she took us, she actually paid with her own money.
After a few years of her working in my house, I have come to realize that she has gone out of her way to help me.  Emilia at first was just a staff that is only there to look out for us, but at the end of the day I know hoe much she cares. Finally, someone can  understand me.
